NYC Double Decker Bus Tour!

This weekend we visited NYC and took a tour of the city on the Double-Decker Bus. It was chilly on Saturday morning (mid-60s), but the sun came out and we had a great day. We took the train into the city and started our day with a brisk walk from Penn Station to Time Square. We have made that walk several times, but we are always seeing something new.

Our tour started in Time Square and then we headed towards Macy's Department Store. The store takes up an entire NYC block and is the largest department store. Then we went to the Empire State Building. We decided to go up in the building on a different trip. We then headed towards Battery Park and the Site of the World Trade Towers. We decided to get off the bus and spend some time in Battery Park. You can see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty from here. The boat ride to both of those are going to be a trip to themselves later for us.

We then headed to the South Street Seaport, where you can see the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. We went through Chinatown, Little Italy, the Financial District, Greenwich Village and SoHo. We saw the United Nations Building. Apparently when they are in session, the flags fly in alphabetical order ( we all are learning something). There are lots of place to see and visit in each of these areas. The buildings and areas are absolutley great to see and visit.

We ended at Rockefeller Center and a trip to the American Girl Store. For Madison's Birthday, she wanted to visit the American Girl Store. We took Pammy to the doll hospital to be fixed and then took Nellie to have her hair done. As usual, Madison ended up with too much, but we both had a great time. Shawn and Logan went walking around and visited a couple of hat stores. There was no Alabama hat to be found!!

Nellie looks beautiful! The little girl holding her is pretty cute, too! Sounds like it was a fun day! We can't wait to come visit in October!
