Our week was spent playing!

The weather on Saturday was in the low 70's, just perfect for a football Saturday or playing outside. Madison and Logan played outside most of the day on the swingset, riding bikes, pushing strollers, riding in the car, and pushing the car.

Logan had his first injury when he fell on his knee as he was trying to push his car around the driveway. He pushes quicker than his feet can keep up. He is definitely a true boy, he hopped up and kept going. Madison was more concerned about the blood than he was.

This week we had a couple of storms come through, so Shawn spent a little while on Saturday cleaning up the tree limbs that fell.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the end of the week!!

We also visited the National Canal Museum

Doesn't sound very exciting, does it? Well, we were all surprised and had a great time. We learned what canals were used for and how they worked. We navigated our own boat up and down the canal. We used the locks to raise and lower our boats as needed. Kim had as much fun as Madison did.

We learned about trains, steamboats, canal boats, horses, and canal bridges (Kim didn't know such things existed). We all learned something this weekend.

Madison learned how a pulley system worked and why steamboat captains named their boats. Madison and Logan each put their name on the big boat in the middle of the museum.

Crayola Crayons - How are they made?

We found out!! This week, we visited the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. We had a wonderful time at the Crayola Factory Discovery Center.

At the Crayola Factory, we learned how crayons and markers are made. Each child got to put on the label on their own crayon, just like families did for Crayola years ago (by hand). Madison got to write on the glass walls, paint, color, make clay models, chalk on the large sidewalk, color her own T-shirt, and paint with wax. She loved it all.

There was an area for smaller children, where Logan played with balls, played in the garden, crawled in the tunnel, watched the balls go up the screw lift, cross the ceiling on the tracks and then come back down the maze on the wall. He loved it all.

We also visited the largest Crayola Store. Just image, any type of crayola stuff all in one place. Madison and Kim both loved it. Crayola used the same wooden boxes in their factory from 1903 - 1996 to move and store crayons in. I guess they finally moderized the process. Kim couldn't pass up buying an Original Crayola Stock Box. I am not exactly sure what we are going to do with it, but I am sure we will find a use for it somewhere.

The largest Crayola Crayon is 15 feet long.

At night

Usually at night, we hang out and play. Madison likes watching Hannah Montana and The Suite life of Zach & Cody. Logan has learned to climb on the couch, so he enjoys getting on and off, on and off, on and off.

This Week

We spent this week at the pool. We went to the community pool, where they have a baby pool that Logan really likes. We also went to visit our next-door neighbor, Mrs. Ross. We see her most everyday when she walks her little dog, Yana. She also has a pool, so we go swimming when we don't have alot of time or just want to take a quick dip. We went to visit a new church this Sunday and really enjoyed our visit. Madison went to Sunday school class on her own and did great.

Mimi- There is a picture just for you. Can you guess which one?

We love and miss everyone. We will see you on the 24th.
