Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
We decided that while we had the opportunity, we went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This also meant that we would miss the holiday with our family. We missed seeing everyone and will see everyone soon.
We absolutely had a marvelous time. We stayed in NYC on Wednesday night, so we could get up bright and early to get a good spot. NYC is truly the city that never sleeps, just ask Madison. We were all up early since traffic, firetrucks, police cars, etc go all night. Madison decided that the city would not be a good place to live, since it "kept waking her up". We left our hotel about 6:30am and headed to up to Central Park West to find a spot(so did everyone else). Luckily our friends who we were going to try to meet up with to watch the parade called and said they had a curb side seat that they found. The other little boy in the pictures is Jayden.
For the next 2.5 hours, the four adults struggled to keep the 3 children entertained with whatever we could find. Luckily (or not) there were two ladies next to us that decided to bring their cat to the parade to see the balloons. That was enough entertainment to keep the adults laughing all morning and the kids liked playing with the cat. Once the parade started Logan and Madison watched every single act that came down the street.
As you can see in the pictures, Logan and Jayden attracted lots of attention from the parade participants, who always came over to say, Hi. Logan is now speaking and responding to people when they speak to him, so he gave High Fives, said Happy Thanksgiving, and whatever else he could think of at that point in time.
The highlight for Madison was definitely Mylie Cyrus and the balloons. Logan loved it all and he would dance when the bands came by. The parade is definitely for all ages, since there were acts that the kids did not know that the adults loved, such as the Smurfs, Kermit the Frog, and James Taylor. While Madison had to explain to us and the adults around us, who some of the other acts were.
Circus
We took the kids (all 4 of us) to the Circus on Friday night. It has been several years since Shawn and I had gone with Madison, so we were looking forward to it, but I don't think nearly as much as Logan was. He talked non-stop all the way there about the Elephants. He loved every minute of the circus including the clowns, horses, dogs, and elephants. We got the circus a little early, so we went down to the floor for the pre-circus show. Logan was a little overwhelmed with everything going on at once. What trip to the circus would be complete without - hotdogs, chicken tenders, fries, cotton candy and popcorn. Plus - a circus light up toy!
Good thing the circus only comes around once a year.
Pumpkin Picking and Pictures
We spent Saturday morning pumpkin picking with some friends. About 6 families from PwC went to the pumpkin patch and we had a great morning. Madison couldn't decide which pumpkin she wanted, while all Logan wanted to do was step on the smashed ones in the field. We had a little extra time on Friday on our way to the Circus, so we stopped at the college down the street that has a gorgeous stone wall for some fall pictures.

Empire State Building
We decided to take a short trip into NYC on Saturday. The Empire State Building was on our list to visit, so we took the train into Penn Station. We walked the 3 blocks over the Empire State Building. We arrived and the line was extremely long, but we decided to stay. Logan fell asleep while we were in line and then slept through the ride up to the observation deck and the entire time we were up there. Madison really enjoyed seeing NYC from the top of the building and picking out sites that she recognized.
Diane and Braedon came to visit
1st Soccer Game of the Season
Madison's Birthday Party
Madison celebrated her 7th Birthday with a surprise visit from Mimi & PopPop. They flew up on Friday afternoon and were at the airport with me, when Shawn, Madison & Logan came to pick me up. We all enjoyed the visit. For Madison's birthday, she and 4 friends celebrated with Make-overs at Libby Lu. They had a great time. Logan road the Jungle Animals at the mall while waiting for the girls to finish, so we could all enjoy pizza.
