We took our 1st trip into New York City. We chose mass transit for the trip because Madison wanted to ride the train. We arrived in New York at Penn Station. We then walked to Herald Square to catch the subway. The Macy's store really is as big as it looks (Kim will save the shopping for another trip). We hopped the N train headed to Central Park (or so we thought). We actually got on the Q train headed the opposite way towards Coney Island, but realized our mistake fairly quickly. We got off and got on the correct train headed in the right direction.
We arrived at 5th and 59th Street and headed towards Central Park. We started in Central Park with a picnic lunch and then went to the Central Park Zoo. Madison's favorite part was the spiderweb rope that children could climb on.
We then proceeded down 5th Avenue. We saw all of the stores you always hear about (Tiffany's, Gucci, Louis Viton, etc). We stopped at Rockerfeller Center and the Today Show Plaza. We are going back in the winter for ice-skating at Rockerfeller Plaza We visited Time Square. Logan absolutely loved all of the lights (even in the middle of the afternoon they were bright).
So our trip would not be complete (per Madison) without a visit to the American Girl Store (all 4 floors of it).
After a very long day, we headed home (via the train). We have lots more to see, so we will be going back.

Madison is definitely right - no trip is complete without a visit to American Girl Place! We can't wait to go when we come to visit! Does Madison still think she is going to "take the week off" when we come?
We'll look for you on the TODAY show! Be sure to wave!
OK that is so awesome. I am so jealous. I am such a starstruck person and that is so cool to get to see all of the things on TV in person! I hope I can drag Jeff there sometime!
